As you all probably heard, the 86th Marine Corps League National Convention was held in Rochester. I had just joined the MCL in june, so Barb and I attended the grand banquet which was held at the Kahler Hotel. The pictures are of marines and spouses sitting at our table. One of the couples, the wife was the marine. It was a great time and we listen to a Lt. General who had spent 41 years in the military (39 as a marine).
One table was set up to represent the MIA's/POW's and it was quite interesting.Everything was explained including the slice of lemon (which represented the bitter taste). Another table was set up for all the fallen comrades. On that table the plate, cup, etc was turned upside down to represent that they were not with us anymore and was not able to attend. Needless to say, it was very interesting and was great to talk to other marines who was in Korea, Viet Nam, Iraq and Afganistan.
