Not sure what happened, but guess I need some help in getting my pictures in the right places. The picture of the rapids didn't get in and the other pictures are all over the place. Sorry about that.

Vacation to New York

Hi Everyone,

Here we are now back home after our 10 day trip to a trapping convention in Dunkirk, New York, and I must say that we truly enjoyed our time there. I am going to attach some pictures of Niagara Falls, but will have them if anyone is interested in seeing them after they are printed off. The picture is of some of the rapids as they start down their path.

This is a picture of the rainbow bridge. There is always a rainbow.

Picture to the right is one of us taken by a person we met at the falls.

Here we are on a trip on the Maid of theMist.

I Got Your Back

As we're counting the days to see Spencer again, it also means that we're that much closer to saying good-bye all over again. Only this time when we say our good-byes and love you, we have no idea when the next phone call when come home or the next letter will arrive. We don't know when we will see our loved soldier again.... I received this poem awhile ago and just recently found it and thought how appropriate it would be to share :) Michelle

I Got Your Back

I am a small and precious child, my dad's been sent to fight...
The only place I'll see his face, is in my dreams at night.
He will be gone too many days for my young mind to keep track.
I may be sad, but I am proud
My daddy's got your back.

I am a caring mother, my son has gone to war...
My mind is filled with worries that I have never known before.
Everyday I try to keep my thoughts from turning black.
I may be scared, but I am proud
My son has got your back.

I am a strong and loving wife, with a husband soon to go.
There are times I'm terrified, in a way most never know.
I bite my lip, and force a smile, as I watch my husband pack...
My heart may break, but I am proud.
My husband's got your back.

I am a soldier...
Serving proudly, standing tall.
I fight for freedom, yours and mine, by answering this call.
I do my job while knowing, the thanks it sometimes lacks.
Say a prayer that I'll come home.
It's me who's got your back

Wyoming News

Hello all, well we made it home this morning. Our plane landed in Denver at about 7:00. Man am I tired. But we had a great time fishing in Alaska. We brought home a little under 100 pounds of halibut and salmon. We both caught our limits both days that we went out halibut fishing. We went out on the 33 foot "Unforgiven." The captains name is Matthew, and he knows his stuff. He really cares about his clients and works very very hard to ensure that they catch their limit of fish.

Our river guide was Monte and he is originally from Big Horn Wyoming. His mother still lives in Sheridan and his brother is a police officer in Jackson. (You have a lot of time to chat when you are in a river boat for 9 1/2 hours on the Kenai.) I will post pictures as I get them downloaded.

Hope everyone is well.

just one star

A while back Mary and I each made a quilt block called just one star and they were sent into the Moda company. Their goal was to get 1800 blocks, enough blocks to make 100 guilts for injured service people by flag day. I just read on the Minnick and Simpson Blog that Moda received over 12,000 blocks and not all the mail has been opened yet - they have enough right now for about 1,000 quilts!!! Moda donated all the fabric for the backings and finishing the quilts and have now recruited quilters to help finish the quilts. I am pleased that I have a block out there that is being put into one of these quilts. I wish I had a picture of my block but of course I do not.

Sunday, June 5, 2011

This morning (Sun, June 5) St Pius was celebrating the 50th anniversary of Father Paul Nelson as a priest. At the 7:30 Mass the 4th degree Knights proceeded in. This was the first time we saw Shawn in the Knight dress. Jordyn wanted a picture of her and dad, so thought I would share it with everyone. We had to take the picture quick, cause Shawn said it was really HOT....... I know that there is a term for the dress, but probably won't spell it right, so I won't even try. So if anyone knows it and would like to put it on......please do so.
