Trip to Tomah

Hi,
Just a note to let everyone know that Ken and I made a trip to Tomah today. We stopped at Cranberry Court and saw Aunt Teresa, we spent about 2 hours with her and had a really nice visit. Then we left to go to Uncle Ted & Aunt Hilda's, we spent about 2 hours with them also and again had a really nice visit. When we left Uncle Ted's we went drove thru Tomah and stopped to say good-bye to Aunt Teresa, we only stayed about 30 minutes that time since they were putting dinner out, and she was getting ready to eat. You can tell that Aunt Teresa is retaining fluids, and she is on oxygen all the time. She was real excited to see us and ask us to come again to visit her. We didn't see any cousins, Uncle Ted's kids usually stop at their house after church and then leave, so we didn't see any of them, We missed Jerry and Paul while we were at Uncle Ted's. Maybe next time we will see some cousins.

It is Trivia Time

I started a new post to be sure everyone sees it. When I was in Ottumwa over the weekend a discussion was started about the grandchildren of Ben and Elizabeth Ollendick. When I got in the conversation I would have had a hard time answering the question and I may not be 100% correct now. I will wait for 2-3 days before I post my answer but I would like everyone who reads this to guess the first grandchild and the last grandchild of grandpa and grandma Ollendick. A small hint would be, I saw both of them on sunday and monday.
It will only take a moment to post a comment and lets see how many different answers are received.

on a lighter note..

I had a few days off work last week, so Conrad and I went to the zoo with Heather and Jordyn on Wednesday. The next two days were spent freezing corn and making applesauce. Then on Saturday I baked muffins and bread for Conrad's birthday party and also made a double batch of tomato basil soup to freeze away for the cold winter months. Sunday morning after church we had Conrad's birthday party at a park in Rochester and had a wonderful time with his friends and our friends. I also had time to take some pretty cute pictures of the little guy to share. Here's one of my favorites...

Ollendick Family News

Good Morning,
Ken and I (Ann went with) went to Ottumwa yesterday (Sun) for the visitation for Aunt Butchie. We went early and stopped at the house and had a great visit with Ginger Smith and Duane Ollendick, and Aunt Deanie and Uncle Dave showed up shortly after noon. Aunt Deanie and Uncle Dave are spending the summer in Iowa, near Uncle Dave old homestead place. We saw and visited with lots of cousins at the funeral home. We were told that Aunt Teresa is in an assisted living home and is not doing very well.
Her address is

Teresa Moser phone # 1-608-374-4989
Cranberry Court
1081 Heeler Ave
Tomah, WI 54660

I did talk to Dale (Dale and Barb went down Sun afternoon and will go to the funeral on Mon) Sun night about half the way home and he did tell me that Aunt Dorothy arrived after we left. So maybe Dale will have some news to add.

Aunt Butchie

I just talked to Ginger (Smith), Aunt Butchie passes away this morning (Aug 21) about 2:30. Visitation will be 3:00 to 8:00 Sunday afternoon at the Reece Funeral Home, address is 607 E 2nd St. The funeral mass will be at 10:00 Monday morning at St. Patrick Church, 222 N Ward St. The final visitation will be 1/2 hour before the funeral mass Monday morning. Ginger said anyone that wanted to come earlier on Sun to please stop at Aunt Butchie's home (324 N Pocahoutis St.) to have a bite to eat, and also there will be space if anyone would like to stay over Sun night.
I think Ken and I will have to go Sun (if we go) and will be coming home Sun evening.

Family Picnic

Brian and Sarah came to visit this weekend, but Shawn's family was not able to be in town. We already had plans to be in Blaine for a hockey weekend with Alex. So, the family brought the party to us! Everyone came and watched a little of Alex on the ice and then we went to a nice park nearby for some fun. It was nice to get together and let loose and have some fun. Here are a few pics from the picnic. I will try to add some more that I have as well, but those are on a different computer.

Pictures

Pictures

Dale will explain the pictures in a couple days

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

This picture was taken at the 89th Marine Corps Convention here in Rochester and the table is set this way because it is depicting the POW/MIA's missing.

Now, on to more pictures, I hope. I could only get one picture in, so will need to ask someone how to get more than one picture in - I keep getting the same picture and have to keep deleting it, but we do have lots.
We had a great time and we met a lot of very nice people. One couple we met at the banquet was someone from Connecticut and said if we were ever down that way to look them up!
