Here's a family photo taken at St. Pius after church service on Feb 20th. Brian and Sarah were unable to attend.Here's the two youngest kids in the family....just laying around and enjoying each other's company....they did pretty good considering little to no naps were happening that Sunday afternoon!

SURPRISE!

Surprise Spencer! Mom and Dad surprised everyone at their 40th Anniversary gathering at the church with a cake for Spencer. Spencer LOVED the cake....and ate many pieces also! Here's a close up of the cake....

hmmm, hmmm, hmmm. Isn't it pretty? And it tasted darn good too! Real buttercream frosting even. Norrie was drooling, just thinking about eating it.

Spring Got Delayed

Well - I'm not sure how much snow we actually got in this round. Being in Coon Rapids our snow didn't actually start until about 4pm yesterday afternoon - but when it got going it sure didn't let up. I think we ended up in the neighborhood of about 7-8inches. Definately not as bad as the December one but all my green grass has once again been covered in white.
Luckily - with school on a holiday - neither of us had to go anywhere so we were able to let the snow come down more today and do only one clean up. It took us about 1 1/2 hours to get everything done.
We are so sorry we missed the gathering yesterday and hope that everybody who did travel was nice and safe. Congratulations on 40 years Aunt Mary and Uncle Ken.

AWESOME NEW LOOK

I love the new look of the blog. Especially the buttons, guess you were thinking of all the sewing when this look was chosen!!!!!
Also love the weather we have been having, doesn't it feel good to be outside without a couple extra layers of clothes on?
Just to let you all know that 40 years ago we had an ice storm!!!!! Hopefully that won't happen this week end.

Sunday 20th

Just wanted to let everyone know...Father Nelson is doing the 9:00AM Mass on Sunday. He will be acknowledging Mom and Dad during Mass - if anyone would like to join us for church...please feel free to come! We don't have any pews reserved, but if we know several are coming, we can certainly call the church to have them reserved. They normally sit near the front, off to the side.

I just talked with the other church - Christ the King in Byron. We are able to get into their about 11:00...for those that want to come early.

Busy Week-end

I hope everyone has had a good week-end so far. It has been busy for us, we started the week-end driving to Kasson to watch Alex play hockey. The drive there was very, very foggy. The team played well, and we were able to see a win (the team hasn't had many this year). Then I went to Quality Sewing to attend a school house teaching session. Home for a couple hours before Ken and I went to church. St Pius had their annual Polka Mass, (been going on for 20 plus years) and this was the first time we have gone. Not only went, but also helped with serving the dinner they put on afterwards. We also stayed for the dance, didn't stay long, only about an hour.
We took our time getting up Sunday morning since we didn't have to go to church. I sewed on a couple quilt blocks for awhile this morning.
Shortly after 11 I went to Quality (with Linda) to work. Normally the store is closed on Sundays, but starting last year they have a Super Sunday Sale (on the same day the Super Bowl is played). The store was scheduled to open at noon, but people were sitting in their cars starting at 11:30 waiting for the store to open. We opened early, and were very busy.....didn't have a chance to sit down or even use the rest room (for the first three hours). It finally starting slowing down about 3:30.
Now I'm home and somewhat watching the SuperBowl football game. I don't feel like I've had much free time the last couple days.

A cold Wednesday, forecast for a warmer week end!!!!

School has a 2 hour delay start today........so the legos came out and the kids had fun playing with them........

First they had to see how high they could stack them..........after that tumbled, then it was break them all apart.

I found this pattern on the internet for free for "no bake cupcakes" and thought it was cute. They are about 9" square and could be used as pot holders. I don't really need any more pot holders, but made them anyway, just because I could.

Also, since it is February already, girl scout cookies are out, Jordyn will be selling them starting Saturday. So if anyone is looking for those great girl scout cookies.......hint, hint, hint.
