Happy Leap Day!
I hope everyone is safe and enjoying the day. Erick got his first "snow day" since 2003. We have some pretty wet heavy snow - but only about 5 inches though - and a layer of ice underneath. Pretty glad I work from home. Should be fun cleaning the driveway today. At least it looks pretty on the trees.

Mary's week end retreat

Christmas Eve I received a very nice gift from Nancy, Tim and family. My gift was a quilt retreat held at Assisi Heights in Rochester, (Sacred Threads: Quilting as a Sacred Art Form) the week end of Feb 24 -26. I stayed at Assisi Height both nights - in the room pictured. As you can see it was very basic and simple and very quiet. It was a real experience staying there overnight.
The retreat was awesome - I had a great time. When I got there Friday night, I realized that I knew about 5 people there. But everyone was so friendly - by the end of the evening - I felt like I knew them all. I would difinitely like to go back for another retreat. The quilt retreats are something new at Assisi Heights - this was only the second one held there. The first one was held last November.

It was a very relaxing week end, just sewing and having fun. The meals were fantastic.
Saturday afternoon we had an opportunity to go on a tour and learn some of the history of the house and the Sister of St. Francis.
Sunday Mass was held at 11 am in the Chapel, quite a few of the quilting ladies went to Mass. Ken joined me for the service (and he wasn't the only hubby there - there was atleast one other one who joined his wife).
It was just an awesome week end.

Jordyn's special day

Jordyn will be making her First Communion early May. Sunday, February 19 was Jordyn's day to carry up gifts and to receive a loaf of bread.
The picture of Jordyn and Father Paul was taken at the end of Mass when Jordyn was called up front.

long weekend

Well, it is Monday February 20 which means it is President Day and 41st wedding anniversary for Mary and Ken. Happy Anniversary - hope you are enjoying the day. Saturday was a fun day as Linda, Barb, and Ann drove to Cannon Falls. Mary, Ken and Jordan also meet us there. Then we returned to Linda's home for some laughs and alittle sewing. Dale stopped too. Thanks Linda for planning this! Along with Mary and Kens anniversary today, Matt and Liz will celebrate their 5th anniversary on the 27th. Larry and Sharon would have had their 40th anniversary this year too:(
Birthday wishes to Kate and Gary Hayes, Ian Bolin, and Jerome Storlie this month. Hope you all enjoyed or will enjoy your birthdays! Hope I am not missing anyone.
Hopefully the snow won't be too much this week. We have had such a nice winter here in Minnesota.
Have a nice week everyone!
