Upcoming Events

Just to let everyone know about the upcoming events.   First off, the one that is happening tonight is Spencer will be in Minnesota.   He is due to fly into Minneapolis about 10:00 pm, will bus to Rochester Armory and arrive about 12:15 am tomorrow morning.  We have a couple very excited children - Zachary just found out last night and told Dakota this morning.  Michelle had been telling the children soon - that dad would be home by Wednesday.  That way if something happened and they were detained - the kids would not keep asking.  The confirmation info went out last night (Sunday night).  I am sure we will all be tired Tues, but it will be worth it.

Another  event coming up is the family get-together.  This will somewhat of a pot-luck, but I know that Ann is bringing creamed turkey, and Barb said she would bring some sloppy joes.  The Peters /Peters/ Stevens/ Tuinstra family will be responible for bringing buns and some desserts.  If everyone could please post what they are planning on bringing - then we will know if we need to get something before the day.   I also have foam cups, some plates, plasticware, some napkins.  Also, just an fyi, at this time Brian and Sarah are planning on being here that week end.

Another event is Jordyn is making her First Communion on Sunday, May 6.  Last year Zach made his First Communion, and it was probably the last Sunday Spencer was in church since he left shortly after that.  It will nice going to church knowing that Spencer is home and with his family after a year.

The Saturday (May 5) before Jordyn and Dakota have their last dance recital for the year.  The girls are always excited to dance for everyone.

Alex has a baseball tournament on Sat (May 5),  it will be in Cannon Falls.  Alex is playing 9th grade ball for Kasson-Mantorville, and the team is doing very well.  Hope they continue.

Conrad has soccer games Saturday morning - some week-ends are just busy, busy, busy!!!!!

Wyoming New

Gabby wanted to see pictures of the "red ones." Well here they are. We had/have a family of fox that live under one of the old sheds out back of the house. We were able to get some pictures of the adults and the babies last summer.

Wyoming News

Happy Easter from Wyoming....

Just wanted to log on and wish everyone a Happy Easter, and to fill you in on what has been happening in Wyoming.

mmmmmm....where to start.

Bob was home from work one day a couple of weeks ago and heard this huge gust of wind hit the house. He said it really rattled the windows. He decided to get up from reading the paper to see what was going on, and he realized that a microburst had hit the house. It didn't go any damage to the house, but he said that it really rattled the windows. He went outside to see if it had done any damage and realized that it had moved the tongue of the trailer about a foot off its block. He also realized that it had blown the roof off of one of the old sheds that we have. It lifted the roof off the building and deposited it into our round pen. It destroyed the building and the round pen. Luckily it missed the camper.

About a week or two earlier we had a really bad wind come up one Sunday and when Bob went to put the dogs back into their kennel he realized that the wind had blown over a lean to on the barn. Luckily nothing was in the lean to at the time. (I uploaded some pictures so you can see the damage.)

As you can guess the wind has been pretty bad here. We have had high wind warnings and red flag warnings just about every week since before the first of the year. When we were going down to Fort Collins for my second foot surgery we saw a semi on its side. The wind had blown it right off the road.

Well, hope everyone has a happy and safe Easter.

Connor's Day

Connor has enjoyed having Papa Ken home. Most mornings they will go for a short walk, then to the park. Today after visiting the bookmobile, Papa and Connor headed to a different park. Connor had lots of fun there. To get him to leave Papa was telling Connor there were trucks on the street.
Imagine Connor's surprise when the driver of the street cleaner, stopped, and asked Connor if he would like to join him in the truck for a visit. He also got to see the street cleaner being filled with water, and dumping the collection of dirt and leaves. Not only was the street cleaner there, but he also saw the water truck, and the dump truck. In case, you didn't know it, Connor likes trucks. He had a great day and adventure with Papa Ken.
