Family Reunion

Hi,
There are a few postings asking about a pot luck, just pot luck, or do we sign up for something?
It has been suggested to me that we do a SOUP THEME POT LUCK, and I think that sounds interesting. Hopefully there will be 3 to 5 kinds of soups (chili, cream base, broth base, etc.) Other items needed will be sandwich makings (meat, cheese, chicken salad, tuna salad) lettuce, tomato (?), breads and buns, crackers, maybe raw veggies, salads (lettuce greens, broccoli, something that will go good with soups). And, of course, a sampling of Christmas baking. It will be like the pick two at Panera........ONLY BETTER!!!!
If this sounds good to everyone, lets go with it.
Please post comments and what you think you would like to bring.
Also, for those of you that want to do a "white elephant gift exchange", bring a wrapped gift (or bagged) and we will have FUN with it.
Michelle please post the hours we have the hall, and hope to see you all there early for an enjoyable day with family.
A Happy and Safe Thanksgiving Holiday to all..........love you all.
Mary

Soup sounds good. I will probably bring a pot of potatoe soup. Also could there be some clarification on a "white elephant gift". I had told Liz I thought it was something new or gently used that you already have but don't necessarily want or use. There is a movie where a guy keeps trying to give away a bread machine that was a wedding gift after he and his wife divorce. Is this correct and should it have a certain value?

What's everyone's take on the white elephant gift?

we have the hall from 10:30 - 8:00 on the 13th.

My thought of a white elephant gift is new or gently used - "regifting".

I think both Ann and Michelle have the right idea.........and if it something we no longer need or want....value shouldn't matter

Question, should we do an adult white elephant and a child? If everyone lets me know how many kids are coming, I could do little Christmas treat bags for the kids.

Dean and I will bring lettuce, tomatos, a couple loaves of french bread, some meat and cheese. Not enough sandwiches for everyone, but some. I will also bring a jar of peanutbutter, in case some of the kids prefer that.

Good Morning everyone,
Tomorrow is the day for our get together........so will see everyone them.
I don't know what time everyone plans on being there. I do know that some of the Kasson/Mantorville families have hockey practice in the morning, but hopefully everyone will be at the hall by noon or so- if this isn't correct, let us know. So I think we should plan on eating between 12 and 12:30. There are some younger children that will need naps and if we eat any later it will interfer with nap times, but hopefully it will also give everyone time to get there in the morning. I know alot of people haven't posted what they are bringing, but I have heard from different people and it sounds like there will enough food. So everyone come hungary and plan on having lots of fun. There will be board games, a white elephant exchange, maybe some music........
see you tomorrow

Hi
just one last thing, could we please get a count of how many children will be there? I know Shawn & Heather's, Dean & Katie's, Michelle & Spencer's, Tim & Nancy's, Crystal's, Mark's children will be there. So that's a total of 13 us I count correctly......If other children are going to be there, please let us know.........thank you.......we don't want any disappointed children
