June, 2009 family reunion

Greetings,
It's time to start thinking about the summer family reunion........if anyone has an idea for location, please POST it. Linda has said that there is a hall/room at Oronoco Estates, no kitchen, but we can use crock pots, and there is a refrigerator, 2 bathroom, and a playground outside. We can plan on using one of the parks in Stewartville, Rochester, or anywhere else someone knows of a good park, the problem with the parks is, we usually can not reserve them, and you never know what the weather will be like. Of course, the price is usually right......no charge. This is being planned for the last Sat in June. So everyone get it marked on your calendar, and let those that don't check this blog/ or don't have computers/ or whatever reason they may not know about the date.
Lets start throwing out ideas, so we can make plans. I really liked the soup potluck idea for the Christmas Party, but that may not be as good in the summer. So what ideas does everyone have...........maybe make your own sub, with salads???????????
Let's hear your thoughts
Thanks
Mary

If Linda can get the hall at Oronoco Estates, that would be fine with me(in case of rain like 2008). Stewartville has several parks for first come first serve that are quite nice but only have shelters. I am open to whatever the majority wants. I'll try to talk to my kids soon to see what ideas they have.

I have been to a lot of pot lucks in the summer where everyone brings a dish to pass, someone brings a couple of gallons of koolaid, and everyone BYOM, bring your own meat. And we grill...just an idea.

Silver Lake park area next to the pool has a shelter now - someone at work just told me....the kids would have a blast playing on the huge playground. Not sure about reserving the shelter though...
