Greetings,
It's time to start thinking about the summer family reunion........if anyone has an idea for location, please POST it. Linda has said that there is a hall/room at Oronoco Estates, no kitchen, but we can use crock pots, and there is a refrigerator, 2 bathroom, and a playground outside. We can plan on using one of the parks in Stewartville, Rochester, or anywhere else someone knows of a good park, the problem with the parks is, we usually can not reserve them, and you never know what the weather will be like. Of course, the price is usually right......no charge. This is being planned for the last Sat in June. So everyone get it marked on your calendar, and let those that don't check this blog/ or don't have computers/ or whatever reason they may not know about the date.
Lets start throwing out ideas, so we can make plans. I really liked the soup potluck idea for the Christmas Party, but that may not be as good in the summer. So what ideas does everyone have...........maybe make your own sub, with salads???????????
Let's hear your thoughts
Thanks
Mary

Family Reunion
Hi,
There are a few postings asking about a pot luck, just pot luck, or do we sign up for something?
It has been suggested to me that we do a SOUP THEME POT LUCK, and I think that sounds interesting. Hopefully there will be 3 to 5 kinds of soups (chili, cream base, broth base, etc.) Other items needed will be sandwich makings (meat, cheese, chicken salad, tuna salad) lettuce, tomato (?), breads and buns, crackers, maybe raw veggies, salads (lettuce greens, broccoli, something that will go good with soups). And, of course, a sampling of Christmas baking. It will be like the pick two at Panera........ONLY BETTER!!!!
If this sounds good to everyone, lets go with it.
Please post comments and what you think you would like to bring.
Also, for those of you that want to do a "white elephant gift exchange", bring a wrapped gift (or bagged) and we will have FUN with it.
Michelle please post the hours we have the hall, and hope to see you all there early for an enjoyable day with family.
A Happy and Safe Thanksgiving Holiday to all..........love you all.
Mary

FYI for the family reunion
Just a note to keep everyone up to date about the family reunion.
Linda, Mary and Ann will be providing brats, burgers, buns, plastic ware, plates, cups and a crystal lite type drink.
Some ideas for pot luck foods would be salads (potato, macaroni, lettuce), raw veggies, fresh fruits, deviled eggs, chips, and dessert ideas....cookies, bars, cake.
If you know what you will bring, please respond in the comments area, so we don't end up with a dozen potato salads, and NO DESSERTS!!!! Thanks to all, and lets all hope for nice weather. See everyone the last Sat in June.
