One more day of work for me, and then I will be finished working at the fair for another year! It has been quite busy this year, as we went to an online program where people need to enter everything online. If they didn't have it registered before they went to the fair, they had to come into the office and register what they wanted in.
I am hoping to get out to the MN Shop Hop sometime before the 14th of August.
By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ann!

Rain.........
This is an evening picture of Ken and I while in Chicago. Notice the skyline. The first night there Chicage received record breaking rain at O'Hare airport. We walked around alot of puddles.
The week before we left (Barb's birthday), we got a heavy downpour. And again last Thursday afternoon we got a good rain.

Shop Hop
Surprisingly I have a rare friday to sunday off from JoAnn's (without request) so I have once again enlisted Erick's help to go out and hit up some of the local quilt shops for their freebies. We have some plans for saturday night and sunday afternoon but should be able to get to a good portion of the ones in our area. Not as excited this year for the main fabric but am sure I will find some that are wonderful.
Then - perhaps I will be able to talk my mom (or maybe an aunt or two) into a couple of helping days in late august so that I can (finally) complete a MN tote bag. I could really use a nice, big and heavy duty one before winter work sets in.
Happy Shopping!

Week-end Trip
Ken and I went to Chicago to visit Brian and Sarah. We had a really nice time........lots of walking. I only took a few pictures.
It's a long drive.......road just keeps going.
It seems like when we go to Chicago, there are always places to go, either driving (very little) or walking (lots).
We did go to the Whole Food Store, the new Apple store.
Evening picture of Brian and Sarah in front of the Lincoln Park Conservatory taken when we went out for an evening walk. We had walked lots during the day, but needed an evening walk since the dogs didn't go with during the day.
Saturday there were sidewalk sales on three streets near Brian and Sarah's home. I found a couple good things to buy, but left most of it in Chicago. What a bummer.

Happy Birthday Barb!!
Barb has a coffee group she attends a couple days a week. This afternoon I heard about it and joined them (in fact, I joined them with 5 grandkids and Ken) for a little while at McDonalds. I don't think they will let me know about the next meeting.
Her friend also brought cupcakes/cake to enjoy.
Cool Dude
As some of you know, Michelle is gone for a couple (4) days to Ohio and Spencer is gone, so guess who gets custody of the children? Papa and G'ma have been busy the last couple days. Wednesday night it was a trip to Kasson for Zach's ball game, and Thursday was a trip to Kasson for Dakota's ball game. Connor was getting pretty antsy Thursday evening, so we put him and car and was trying to entertain him.
He looks pretty cool with them on....right?
It worked and that's all that mattered. He was content while Dakota finished the game

Minnesota Nice
We went to Fort McCoy in Wisconsin to see Spencer on Sunday. The event was termed "Minnesota Nice" and was put on for the soldiers, family and friend.
The first picture is the tent we ate in and that was only the first group - there was alot of people there.
As you can see the kids were very excited to see daddy. We rode a bus supplied by Beyond the Ribbon, so we had a very nice, comfortable ride there and back.
I think Zachary and Dakota were the first two off the bus, they could see dad standing at the gate waiting. There were lots of hugs going on. I wasn't off the bus to get a picture of first hugs.
oops, forgot to rotate this photo of Dakota, she was picking flowers for dad, and then wanted one in her hair.
